Trumbull teen on electric bike remains critical after Main Street crash

TRUMBULL — A 15-year-old boy riding an electric bike remained in critical condition Friday after being struck by a vehicle on Main Street near Whitney Avenue Thursday night.

The Trumbull teen was traveling south on Main Street when he was hit by a northbound vehicle around 3 p.m., according to the Trumbull Police Department.

The collision caused life-threatening injuries to the boy.

The driver, a Trumbull man who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was not injured in the crash.

He remained at the scene and cooperated fully with police during the investigation.

The identities of those involved have not been released.

The Trumbull, Fairfield and Westport police departments’ Crash Reconstruction Unit is continuing to investigate the accident.

No charges have been filed at this time.
