Penn Yan police charge man with harassment for allegedly following victim

PENN YAN — Penn Yan Police have charged Kristoffer D. Johnson, 23, of Prattsburgh, with harassment in the second degree following a complaint received in the village on July 5.

Police allege Johnson intentionally followed a victim in his vehicle throughout several streets in the village.

The victim also traveled outside of the village while on the phone with 911 and returned to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office at the instruction of their dispatch center.

Johnson allegedly continued to follow the victim during that time.

Johnson was served with a criminal summons for harassment in the second degree and is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date to answer the charge.
