WEST SENECA — The West Seneca Police Department handled 481 complaints from June 29 through July 5, according to a weekly blotter report.
A 67-year-old West Seneca man was killed in a crash on Seneca Street west of Stephenson on June 29.
Initial investigation, video footage and witness statements established that the victim lost his balance and fell in the roadway before being struck by a passing pickup truck.
Lifesaving efforts were administered at the scene but were unsuccessful.
No charges have been filed against the driver of the pickup truck, but investigation by detectives and the Accident Investigation Unit is ongoing.
On the same day, a Center Road couple reported unknown suspects stole their SUV from their driveway in the middle of the afternoon while one of the victims was home.
Multiple credit cards were inside the vehicle when it was stolen.
Police traffic cameras in multiple jurisdictions captured images of the vehicle following its theft, but its tracking features have been turned off.
A 25-year-old Buffalo woman was arrested for drunk driving following a single-vehicle crash on Langner Road on June 30.
Around 4:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle that had struck a house.
The driver was found lying on the ground outside the crashed vehicle, and a bottle of vodka was on the driver side floorboard.
She was taken to the hospital and placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold.
On July 1, a Cloverside Court resident reported four unknown suspects stole his SUV from his driveway in the early-morning hours.
Video surveillance footage showed a small black SUV stopping in front of the victim’s house, with four males getting out and pulling on door handles of vehicles in the driveway.
One male entered the victim’s unlocked SUV, used a spare key left inside to start it, and drove it away across the victim’s front lawn.
A 24-year-old Buffalo man was arrested July 3 for shoplifting three steaks from Aldi on Harlem Road.
The stolen steaks and the suit he had been wearing were found in his rolling suitcase.
On July 4, police and firefighters responded to a garage fire on Barnett Drive around 10:25 p.m.

West Seneca police have numerous pending charges against the suspect, including grand larceny, criminal mischief, criminal trespass, unauthorized use of a vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident.
