Schenectady man arrested on drug, weapon charges in Greene County

COXSACKIE — A 40-year-old Schenectady man was arrested July 6 following a traffic stop by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.

Tiequan Ward was found in possession of crack cocaine, an illegally possessed 9mm handgun with a defaced serial number, a fraudulent Tennessee license plate and a fraudulent New Jersey driver’s license, according to authorities.

Ward was arraigned in the Town of Coxsackie Court on criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony.

He also faces criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a class D felony, and possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, a class D felony.

Ward was charged with several vehicle and traffic violations as well.

He was released on his own recognizance with an appearance scheduled in the Town of Catskill Court at a later date.
