Manchester police investigate stabbing at Charter Oak Park

MANCHESTER — Manchester police are investigating a stabbing that occurred at Charter Oak Park on July 7.

Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at the Dunkin’ Donuts at 244 Center Street at approximately 5:10 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found a 16-year-old male who reported being stabbed in the chest.

Emergency medical personnel treated the teen at the scene before transporting him to a local hospital.

He has since been treated and released.

The victim told officers the stabbing occurred at Charter Oak Park before he arrived at the Dunkin’ Donuts.

The preliminary investigation suggests the incident occurred between 4:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. near the pavilion at Charter Oak Park during an altercation involving multiple individuals.

Following the altercation, the victim left the park and reported what had occurred while at Dunkin’ Donuts.

During the investigation, officers identified a second 16-year-old male victim who sustained a minor abdominal injury, also believed to be caused by a knife during the same altercation.

He was treated at a local hospital and released.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.
