ARLINGTON — A 68-year-old Athens man was charged with driving under the influence after rolling over his vehicle on Kelly Stand Road Sunday afternoon.
Jonathan R. Thomas was operating a 2014 Ford Escape when the rollover crash occurred near North Road at 4:08 p.m., according to Vermont State Police.
Thomas sustained multiple injuries in the crash and was transported to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center for treatment.
The vehicle was totaled in the crash.
Thomas was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident, police said.
Troopers responded to the scene along with Arlington Rescue Squad.
Police screened Thomas for alcohol impairment at the scene before transporting him to the Shaftsbury Barracks for processing.
Thomas was cited for DUI and negligent operation.
He is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court in Bennington on Sept. 8 at 8:30 a.m.
Road conditions were dry and weather was clear at the time of the crash.
