CHERRYFIELD — The Maine Warden Service is investigating an illegal dumping case where someone discarded construction debris and deer parts on private property between Rocky Ridge and Baseline Road.
The debris was found on land owned by Wyman’s, one of Maine’s largest private landowners that opens its property to the public for recreation.
Officials said they have several strong leads in the case but are asking for additional information from the public.
Anyone with information can contact the Maine Warden Service through Bangor State Police Dispatch at 207-973-3700.
The warden service is encouraging anyone who knows the person responsible to urge them to turn themselves in.
This marks the second illegal dumping incident at the same location.
Game wardens and volunteers cleaned up the area last fall during the annual Landowner Appreciation Cleanup Day.
Officials said littering consistently ranks as one of the top reasons private landowners in Maine choose to close their land to public access.
