BRISTOL — Police and fire officials rescued a man who became trapped in a chimney while allegedly trying to break into a park building June 22.
Officers and Bristol Fire Department members responded to the Pavilion building at Rockwell Park after receiving reports of a male stuck in a chimney.
They found Carlos Owens of Bristol with his feet dangling in the fireplace.
Owens told first responders he became stuck after attempting to climb into the building through the chimney.
Bristol Fire Department crews freed Owens after cutting apart the fireplace.
Police said their investigation indicated Owens had been staying in the building illegally for a period of time.
Owens was charged with burglary in the third degree, criminal mischief in the first degree and criminal trespass in the first degree.
