North Branford driver dies in two-car crash on Foxon Road

NORTH BRANFORD — One driver died and another was injured in a two-car collision on Foxon Road on Tuesday morning, police said.

The North Branford Communications Center received multiple 911 calls at approximately 10:01 a.m. reporting a motor vehicle accident with injuries in front of 999 Foxon Road.

North Branford Police and Fire personnel responded and located the two-car collision.

One of the drivers sustained severe injuries and life-saving measures were immediately initiated by North Branford Fire Department personnel.

The individual was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The second driver was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital with what appear to be minor injuries.

The South Central Regional Accident Investigation Unit is currently on scene and actively investigating the incident.

Foxon Road will remain closed between Twin Lakes Road and Cedar Lake Road for an extended period while the scene is processed.

The identity of the deceased will not be released until proper notification has been made, police said.
