Brighton announces summer events lineup

BRIGHTON — The Town of Brighton has announced a full lineup of summer community events for residents and visitors, beginning with a town-wide yard sale on June 27.

The summer events series kicks off with the Town-Wide Yard Sale weekend, featuring Market Day with crafters, antiques, flea market vendors and a farmer’s market for unique finds.

The annual Kick-Off to Summer Car Show is scheduled for Saturday, June 28.

Brighton’s Independence Day Celebration highlights the summer calendar. Beautiful Wreck will perform on the Catamount Arts Stage in Lakeside Park on Friday, July 4, at 6 p.m.

Saturday, July 5, features the annual Island Pond Independence Day Parade, American Legion Chicken Barbeque and Independence Day Scavenger Hunt. Decadia, described as Island Pond’s favorite band, will perform from the Catamount Arts Stage at 6 p.m.

The town’s fireworks show starts at 9:30 p.m. to conclude the Fourth of July weekend.

“Island Pond is known for its events as a great time for the whole family is guaranteed!” said Town Manager Michael Strait. “We can’t wait to welcome you to town.”
