Bath police arrest man on drug charges after traffic stop

BATH — An officer with the Village of Bath Police Department initiated a traffic stop on West Morris St in the Village of Bath for multiple violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law on June 15 at approximately 11:22 p.m.

As a result, Gage F. Sorge, age 21, of Tioga, Pennsylvania was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 5th degree, a class D felony.

Sorge was also charged with criminally using drug paraphernalia 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor, on two counts.

He was additionally cited for speed in zone and visibility/glass distorted traffic violations.

Police allege that during the course of the traffic stop, drug paraphernalia was observed inside the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle was conducted which produced multiple items of contraband.

Inside the vehicle officers located a box containing two digital scales with narcotic residue, a plastic bag of ten 20mg Adderall pills, and a plastic bag labeled for packaging of controlled substance.

Sorge was subsequently taken into custody, processed, and transported to Steuben County Jail for arraignment at CAP court.
