BATH — The Village of Bath Police Department arrested two parents Monday after officers responding to assist Child Protective Services found unsuitable living conditions for a newborn baby.

Savannah Kshir, 23, and Douglas Cook, 31, both of Bath, were taken into custody following the welfare check on June 16.

Police patrols were called to assist Child Protective Services with a home visit to check on the welfare of a newborn baby.

Once inside the residence, officers observed living conditions not suitable for an adult or baby.

Both parents were charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A misdemeanor.

Kshir and Cook were transported to Steuben County Jail to await Central Arraignment Court.
