CLAREMONT — A 22-year-old Claremont man was arrested within 30 minutes of a shooting Friday evening in a business parking lot where multiple people were present.
Isaac Torres was taken into custody at a Walnut Street residence after police responded to the area of Broad and Glidden streets at about 5:15 p.m. June 13 for a report of gunfire.
Officers learned that Torres fired multiple rounds at a vehicle that had pulled into a business parking lot off Glidden Street.
Other uninvolved people were in the parking lot and inside the nearby business at the time of the shooting.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
Police said Torres and the man driving the pickup truck were acquainted with one another prior to the encounter.
Torres has been charged with attempt to commit first degree assault, felonious use of a firearm, falsifying physical evidence and three counts of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon.
Investigators are continuing to review surveillance footage, execute search warrants, collect evidence and conduct interviews.
The investigation is active and ongoing, and charges for Torres may be upgraded.
Additional suspects may also be arrested and charged.
The Claremont Police Department thanked the New Hampshire State Police for their assistance in the investigation.
