TRUMBULL — Two men were arrested June 11 following a road rage incident that escalated into a physical confrontation near the intersection of Route 25 and Route 111.

Jacob Shreli, 53, of Brooks Quarry Road in Brookfield, and Trey Utsey, 32, of North Street in Seymour, were taken into custody after the incident.

Police received multiple 911 calls just after 5 p.m. reporting a motor vehicle accident and physical altercation between drivers.

Officers determined that Shreli and Utsey were driving in the area when an argument began.

The argument escalated when Utsey made an abrupt U-turn on Route 111 to travel the wrong way back toward Shreli’s vehicle, striking the front end.

The accident disabled both vehicles, which had to be towed from the scene.

Police allege both parties struck each other’s windshields with objects prior to the crash.

Officers recovered a 25-pound dumbbell and a cane with an axe-type handle from the scene.

Both men were charged with weapons in a motor vehicle, criminal mischief and other related criminal and motor vehicle charges.
