BRISTOL — A 40-year-old Bristol man was arrested twice within four days on drug charges after police observed him conducting narcotics transactions.

Jorge Freytas was first arrested on June 2 during a motor vehicle stop conducted by the Bristol Police Department’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit and Crime Suppression Unit.

Officers conducting surveillance for narcotics activity observed Freytas engaging in drug transactions before stopping his vehicle.

Police found Freytas in possession of a large quantity of crack cocaine and cash during the stop.

Four days later on June 6, officers conducting surveillance observed a man on a moped wearing a helmet engaging in narcotics transactions.

The moped operator was detained and identified as Freytas.

When placed in the rear of a police cruiser, Freytas removed a large quantity of crack cocaine from inside his pants and attempted to hide it within the passenger compartment.

Freytas faces charges for possession of narcotics with intent to sell for both incidents.

Officers seized a total of 30 grams of crack cocaine from Freytas in addition to nearly $6,300 in cash believed to be drug proceeds.

Freytas is scheduled to appear in New Britain Court next week.
