CLIFTON PARK — A 48-year-old Mechanicville woman was arrested Wednesday on charges of grand larceny in the 2nd degree and criminal possession of a forged instrument in the 2nd degree, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

Lisa A. McMahon is accused of possessing forged instruments that she allegedly submitted to a Clifton Park credit union in January 2024 to open a guardianship account and checking account.

The funds in the account reportedly belonged to the person McMahon had court-appointed guardianship over.

She is alleged to have depleted the account in excess of $50,000 without court approval.

Grand larceny in the 2nd degree is a class C felony, while criminal possession of a forged instrument in the 2nd degree is a class D felony.

McMahon was arraigned before the Honorable Robert A. Rybak in the Clifton Park Town Court and released on her own recognizance pending further proceedings.
