Greenfield man faces drug charges after parole warrant arrest

GREENFIELD — A 46-year-old man was arrested on drug charges after state parole officers found controlled substances while attempting to serve a parole warrant at his residence.

Daniel L. Jones of Greenfield was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 5th degree, a class D felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

The arrest occurred May 29 when state parole officers went to Jones’ residence to arrest him on a parole warrant.

Officers allegedly found Jones in possession of cocaine and also located a container of crystal methamphetamine in the residence.

Jones is accused of knowingly and unlawfully possessing the cocaine with intent to sell it and of knowingly and unlawfully possessing the crystal methamphetamine.

He was arraigned before Judge Timothy M. Brown in Milton Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings in Greenfield Town Court.
