Putnam police investigate overnight vehicle break-ins

PUTNAM — The Putnam Police Department received a report at approximately 4:45 a.m. May 30 from a resident of Sabin Street that their vehicle had been entered and rummaged through overnight.

Over the course of that morning, numerous other reports of cars being entered in the overnight hours in the area on Sabin Street, Vandale Street and Pomfret Street were reported.

All vehicles were unlocked.

Several residents have provided video footage of the suspect.

The investigation remains open and active.

A suspect has been identified and an arrest is expected.

The Putnam Police Department reminds residents to always lock vehicle doors and not leave valuables, purses or wallets in vehicles.
