CORNING — A 45-year-old woman was arrested June 3 on felony charges related to allegedly filing false documents with the New York State Department of Labor to receive unemployment benefits she was not eligible for.
Jenniffer L. Mullen of Pine Hill Road was charged by Steuben County Sheriff’s Office investigators with offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree, falsifying business records in the first degree and grand larceny in the fourth degree, all class E felonies.
Sheriff Jim Allard said Mullen allegedly offered a false instrument for filing to the state Department of Labor and received benefits exceeding $1,000 that she was not eligible to receive.
Mullen was released with an appearance ticket to appear in Town of Corning Court at a later date.
Allard thanked the New York State Department of Labor for their assistance in the investigation.
