Rome man arrested on bench warrant in Penn Yan

PENN YAN — A Rome man was arrested on a bench warrant for failing to appear on DWI charges, according to Penn Yan police.

Devan M. Britton, 26, was taken into custody April 14 at the Town of Jerusalem Court where he was attending an unrelated matter.

The Yates County Sheriff’s Office located Britton and turned him over to the Penn Yan Police Department.

Britton was charged with third-degree bail jumping for failing to appear in Village of Penn Yan Court on the specified date and within the 30 days that followed.

He was transported to the Yates County Jail to await CAP arraignment.
