STARKEY — A 75-year-old Dundee man died Tuesday after his tractor overturned into a creek on State Route 14a in the Town of Starkey.
Mark C. Collins was pronounced dead at Schuyler Hospital following the 5:01 p.m. accident, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said Collins was attempting to navigate around a culvert when he backed up too close to the edge, causing the tractor to flip over and come to rest in a creek.
Emergency responders from the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, Dundee Fire Department and Yates County Ambulance were dispatched to the scene.
Medical treatment was administered at the site before Collins was transported to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
