UTICA — Utica Police arrested a 16-year-old male suspect following an attempted armed robbery on Jefferson Avenue.
On May 17 at approximately 3 p.m., police units were dispatched to the 500 block of Jefferson Ave regarding a robbery investigation.
Officers learned that a male had approached the victim, brandished a handgun and demanded money.
When the victim refused, the suspect fled the scene.
Police located a male matching the description a short distance away.
Upon positively identifying the individual, the 16-year-old suspect was arrested and transported to the Utica Police Department.
The Juvenile Aid Unit charged him with Attempted Robbery in the first degree.
Due to the suspect’s age, his identity will not be released.
