MAYNARD — A local man faces multiple charges following a domestic incident Sunday night where he allegedly broke into an apartment and damaged property.

William Buster, 25, of Maynard, was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a dangerous weapon, breaking and entering into a building in the nighttime, and several other offenses.

On Sunday, May 18, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Maynard Police received reports of an individual breaking into an apartment on Dawn Road.

During the initial call, police received another call reporting a fight at the same apartment building.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the reporting party, who stated that Buster broke into the apartment and proceeded to break multiple items in the home.

The reporting party told police that Buster also smashed their car windshield with a vacuum before fleeing the scene.

Buster, who is known to the reporting party, was described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds, wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans with brown hair and facial hair.

The Maynard Police Drone Unit was utilized to assist in locating Buster.

While operating the drone, officers located a thermal image of something next to the fence outside the apartment complex.

Officers approached the area being surveilled via drone and located Buster, who was arrested without incident.

Officers learned that Buster had ingested a large amount of non-lethal medication and had him transported to an area hospital out of an abundance of caution.

Buster was arraigned in Concord District Court on Monday, where a dangerousness hearing was also scheduled.
