Police investigate shooting on Madison Street in Oneida

ONEIDA — Officers from the Oneida City Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Madison Street at approximately 12:15 p.m. today.

Upon arrival, officers located one victim inside an apartment building.

The individual was transported to a Syracuse hospital, where they are currently listed in stable condition.

Police Chief Steve Lowell stated that the incident is believed to be isolated and was not a random act.

“At this time, there is no immediate threat to public safety,” Lowell said.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.

Details regarding the individuals involved are not being released at this time.
