MONTGOMERY — Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department responded to two separate fire incidents Monday evening, with crews dividing resources to handle both emergencies.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., Engine 223 provided mutual aid to Campbell Hall for a fully involved structure fire, where crew members assisted on scene and shuttled water.
Engine 219, along with Assistant Chief Hoeffner, established a water source to fill tankers at the fire scene.
While units were operating in Campbell Hall, Tanker 221 and Rescue 222 were dispatched to 88 Charles St. at approximately 8 p.m. for a report of an odor of smoke in a building.
Engine 223 was released from Campbell Hall to respond to the second incident.
Firefighters located a minor fire in the wall of the restaurant’s dining room, which was quickly extinguished.
Montgomery units at the Charles Street location received assistance from Bullville Engine, Coldenham Truck, unit 36-13, and Orange County Fire Investigators.
Units operating at the Charles Street incident were back in service by approximately 9:30 p.m., while all units involved in the Campbell Hall fire returned to service around midnight.
Chief Reynolds commanded the Charles Street incident.
