CLIFTON PARK — A 65-year-old Waterford man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly driving while intoxicated and leading sheriff’s deputies on a vehicle pursuit.

John B. Miller faces multiple charges including DWI, a class E felony, and unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle in the 3rd degree, a class A misdemeanor, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident began when deputies responded to a driving complaint at 3 p.m. on Longkill Road in Clifton Park.

Miller’s DWI charge was elevated to a felony due to a previous DWI conviction within the past 10 years, authorities said.

Officials report that Miller led marked sheriff’s units on a vehicle pursuit through Clifton Park before becoming stuck in traffic at state Route 146 and Blue Barns Road, where he was taken into custody.

Additional charges include unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, speed in zone, moving from lane unsafely, and refusal to take a breath test at the request of a police officer.

Miller was released on appearance tickets at the direction of Clifton Park Town Court Judge Robert A. Rybak pending further proceedings.
