Hudson Falls man charged with smuggling meth into Saratoga County jail

BALLSTON SPA — A Hudson Falls man was arrested Thursday for allegedly smuggling methamphetamine into the Saratoga County Jail, authorities said.

Kade D. LaPointe, 26, was charged with promoting prison contraband in the first degree, a class D felony, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

LaPointe is accused of knowingly and unlawfully introducing methamphetamine into the Saratoga County Jail on April 25.

The arrest was made Thursday at 3 p.m., sheriff’s officials said.

LaPointe was arraigned before Town Justice Timothy M. Brown in Milton Town Court.

He was remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further court proceedings.
