Clifton Park welfare check leads to DWI arrest

CLIFTON PARK — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Rensselaer woman on driving while intoxicated charges following a welfare check Wednesday.

Deputies responded to 121 Old Route 146 in Clifton Park at 2:52 p.m. May 11 for a welfare check call.

The investigation led to the arrest of Ashley M. Widman, 38, of Rensselaer, authorities said.

Widman was charged with driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor.

She also faces charges of consuming an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle on a public highway and refusing to submit to a breath test at the request of a police officer, an infraction.

According to the sheriff’s office, Widman is accused of operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition.

Widman was released on appearance tickets pending further proceedings in the Clifton Park Town Court.
