Delhi man indicted on multiple drug charges

DELHI — A Delaware County grand jury has returned a five-count indictment against a Colchester man for alleged drug sales and possession, District Attorney Shawn J. Smith announced.

Brian K. Shear Jr., 45, faces five counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, all Class B felonies, according to the May 8 indictment.

The first count alleges Shear knowingly and unlawfully sold a hallucinogenic substance to another individual on or about April 13.

The second count alleges Shear sold cocaine to another individual on the same date.

The third count alleges Shear possessed fentanyl with intent to sell on or about April 13.

The fourth count alleges Shear possessed methamphetamine or related compounds weighing one-eighth ounce or more with intent to sell.

The fifth count alleges Shear possessed psilocybin weighing twenty-five milligrams or more with intent to sell.

Indictments and criminal complaints are allegations, and all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
