Penn Yan man arrested after allegedly firing gun during domestic dispute

MILO — A Penn Yan man was arrested early Saturday morning after allegedly firing a weapon multiple times during a domestic incident, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.

Daniel J. Smith, 38, was charged with second-degree menacing following the incident that occurred around 2:25 a.m. on State Route 14A in the Town of Milo.

Deputies responded to reports of a domestic disturbance and determined that Smith had allegedly fired a gun multiple times in a threatening manner toward another person.

Smith was taken into custody at the scene and held for CAP arraignment.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
