Teen’s late-night joyride in mom’s minivan ends safely in LeRoy

LEROY — A 16-year-old took his mother’s minivan for an unauthorized late-night drive Thursday, prompting a response from the LeRoy Police Department.

Officers quickly located the vehicle after receiving reports of the incident around 11:30 p.m.

Police described moments during the pursuit that “felt straight out of The Dukes of Hazzard,” though they did not provide specific details about the driving behavior.

The incident concluded safely with no injuries reported.

The teenager has been returned to his family, according to police officials.
