Worcester man arrested on firearms charges

WORCESTER — Worcester police officers and federal agents arrested a 28-year-old man on multiple firearms charges Thursday evening.

Officers from the Worcester Police Department’s Crime Gun Intelligence Unit were working with agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives on May 1.

The officers had probable cause to arrest Ronnie Suriel of Mann Street for carrying a firearm without a license.

At about 6 p.m., officers conducting surveillance spotted Suriel walking on Lawnfair Street.

When officers detained Suriel, they discovered he had a firearm in a satchel he was carrying.

Suriel, who does not have a license to carry firearms, was charged with two counts of carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, and possession of ammunition without a Firearms Identification Card.

He was arrested and transported to the police station.
