Pickup truck catches fire at Somers intersection

SOMERS — A pickup truck caught fire Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Moseman Avenue and Pinesbridge Road, requiring a two-hour response from local firefighters.

The Somers Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the scene at 4:44 p.m. on May 1, according to fire officials.

First responders confirmed a pickup truck was ablaze upon arrival.

Additional fire units arrived shortly after the initial response and quickly extinguished the flames.

Fire personnel remained at the scene for approximately two hours before returning to service.

Responding units included Somers Fire Department vehicles Car 2441, 2442, 2446, and engines E180, E181, E183, and E186.

State Police and Somers Police also responded to the incident.
