BRISTOL — A motorcyclist died after colliding with a small SUV outside a McDonald’s restaurant on Farmington Avenue early Friday morning, police said.
Bristol Police responded to the crash at 646 Farmington Avenue at 12:10 a.m., where they found an unresponsive young adult male in the roadway.
Officers performed immediate medical aid until Bristol EMS arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, according to police.
Initial investigation by the department’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team (START) determined that the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Farmington Avenue when it collided with a small SUV exiting the McDonald’s parking lot.
Farmington Avenue was closed overnight while investigators processed the scene but reopened to traffic by 5 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation, and authorities are withholding the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
