EVERETT — Everett police arrested a Cambridge man Monday evening after he allegedly fled from officers who had stopped him in a stolen vehicle.

Clarck Walker Jean, 24, was taken into custody after a brief foot chase that ended when officers found him with a loaded firearm in his waistband, according to police.

Officers Palermo and Uga initially spotted what they suspected was a stolen vehicle traveling on Main Street.

After confirming the vehicle was stolen through Everett Dispatch, the officers conducted a traffic stop with assistance from Officer Davidson and Officer N. Basteri.

Police said Jean fled on foot when officers approached the vehicle.

During the pursuit, officers observed Jean appearing to reach for something in his waistband before he eventually complied with commands to raise his hands.

Jean was charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle and multiple firearms-related violations.

He was arraigned Tuesday in Malden District Court.
