GREENFIELD — A Gansevoort man faces multiple charges including aggravated DWI after crashing his vehicle into a utility pole Sunday evening in Greenfield, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
Michael P. Hurst, 44, was arrested following the single-vehicle crash that occurred on Wilton Road at 5:05 p.m.
Deputies responding to the scene determined Hurst had been operating his vehicle while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .20%, more than twice the legal limit.
Investigators said Hurst’s vehicle left the roadway and struck a National Grid utility pole, causing electrical wires to fall.
The crash resulted in charges of aggravated DWI (per se), DWI, and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08% or greater, all unclassified misdemeanors.
Hurst also faces infractions for speed not reasonable or prudent and failure to use a designated lane.
No other vehicles or individuals were involved in the incident, according to authorities.
Hurst was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Greenfield Town Court at a later date.
