CANTON — A Russell man was arrested Friday after allegedly brandishing a knife during an argument in the presence of three young children, according to the Canton Police Department.
Officers responded to a call on Law Lane at approximately 5:50 p.m. April 25 regarding a male subject threatening an individual and his children with a knife.
Investigation revealed that John D. Latray of Russell displayed a knife during a verbal altercation with another person while three children under the age of eight were present.
Latray was taken into custody without incident and arraigned before Judge Velez of Hermon Town Court.
He was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility without bail.
Latray faces multiple charges including third-degree criminal possession of a weapon with a previous conviction, a Class D felony; fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a Class A misdemeanor; three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, Class A misdemeanors; and second-degree menacing, a Class A misdemeanor.
