BATH — A Buffalo man was arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman at a local hotel.
On April 25 at approximately 10:50 p.m., officers with the Village of Bath Police Department responded to a sexual assault report at the Super 8 Hotel.
Investigation determined that a male suspect forcibly touched the intimate parts of a female victim who did not know him.
Officers located and arrested the suspect the following day without incident.
Mark A. Sherman, 49, of Buffalo, was charged with one count of forcible touching, a Class A misdemeanor under New York State Penal Law.
Sherman was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment, where he remains held with the opportunity for bail.
Authorities discovered during their investigation that Sherman is a Level 2 sex offender, a six-time convicted felon, and is currently under supervision by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
