Selkirk police arrest man on illegal weapon charges

SELKIRK — The Bethlehem Police Department responded to a residence in Selkirk on Saturday, April 6, at 10:54 p.m. following a report of a fight in progress.

During the investigation, officers discovered a .45 caliber handgun unlawfully possessed by Bee Htoo, 31, of Selkirk.

Evidence at the scene indicated a round had been discharged from the firearm.

Htoo was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree, reckless endangerment in the 1st degree, and criminal possession of a firearm.

He was arraigned in Town of Bethlehem Court before Honorable Andrew Kirby and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility with a cash bail set at $2,500 or a $10,000 bond.

A court return date has been scheduled for May 6 at 4:00 p.m.
