CELORON — Authorities arrested two individuals Thursday after seizing more than two pounds of methamphetamine during a traffic stop in Celoron.
The arrests came after a three-year investigation into methamphetamine trafficking from Akron, Ohio, to the Jamestown area, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown Police Department, Dunkirk Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration received information that a large quantity of methamphetamine was being transported to the Jamestown area on April 3.
Authorities located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at a residence in Celoron.
The DEA obtained a search warrant for the vehicle, which led to the discovery of over two pounds of methamphetamine.
Celina Serva of Akron, Ohio, was charged with possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine.
Serva will be arraigned in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York in Buffalo on April 4.
Leslie Carnes was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and issued an appearance ticket for Town of Ellicott Court.
