BATH — A Bath man was arrested at Tops Friendly Market on April 3 after allegedly threatening police officers with a dangerous instrument.
Richard Snyder was taken into custody following a welfare check that escalated when store management requested he be removed from the premises for trespassing.
When officers attempted to arrest Snyder, he allegedly menaced them with a weapon, leading to a brief struggle before he was subdued.
Snyder faces multiple charges including trespassing, resisting arrest, second-degree menacing, and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, which is a Class D felony.
According to police, Snyder had been released from custody the night before for similar offenses.
He was transported to Steuben County Jail to await arraignment in Central Arraignment Court.
