PERINTON — Three Rochester men were arrested after a burglary at Van Bortel Ford on Marsh Road early Tuesday morning, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a burglary in progress at 3:20 a.m. on March 11 after receiving a call from an employee at the dealership.
The sheriff’s office established a perimeter and deployed drone and K9 units to search for the suspects.
During the investigation, deputies observed three men in a gold Chevrolet Malibu parked behind a building down the road from the dealership.
Security footage review helped identify the men as suspects, who were then detained and transported to the sheriff’s A Zone substation for questioning.
Evidence technicians documented damage to numerous desks inside the business and pry marks on an exterior door.
Rahjule B. Keeton, 20, Lancear T. Alexander, 20, and Hardy M. Porter Jr., 18, all of Rochester, were each charged with third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief, both class D felonies.
Keeton and Porter were issued appearance tickets and released in accordance with New York state law.
Alexander, who has two open felony cases, was arraigned in Perinton Town Court and remanded to the Monroe County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
The Fairport Police Department assisted in the investigation.
