Traffic stop leads to weapons charges for Peekskill man

PEEKSKILL — A routine traffic stop Sunday led to the arrest of a man on multiple weapons charges after police discovered two loaded handguns in his vehicle.

Officer Mark Frascello pulled over Justin Arjani at approximately 4:37 p.m. on the 1000 block of Park Street for aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, according to police.

Authorities discovered Arjani had two active warrants issued by the City of Peekskill court.

During an inventory search of the vehicle prior to impound, officers recovered two loaded 9mm Taurus GX4 pistols along with two high-capacity magazines.

Arjani faces two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree, a class C felony, and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree, a class D felony.

He is currently being held in police custody awaiting arraignment in Peekskill court.
