GREECE — A 47-year-old woman was injured Thursday when a suspect struck her with her own vehicle during a theft at a Walmart parking lot.
Greece Police officers responded to 3800 Dewey Avenue at approximately 1:13 p.m. after receiving reports of a robbery.
The victim told police she was walking to her vehicle when she observed two unidentified male suspects inside her Kia Sportage.
When she attempted to intervene, one of the suspects struck her with the vehicle while fleeing the scene.
The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Officers tracked the stolen vehicle using the License Plate Reader system, initially locating it on Lake Avenue before losing sight of it.
The vehicle later crashed into another car at a gas station on Lake Avenue before colliding with a fence.
Both suspects fled on foot after the crash.
Greece Police conducted a search with assistance from New York State Police helicopter and the Rochester Police Department’s K9 unit, but were unable to locate the suspects.
Investigators recovered physical evidence and obtained video surveillance footage from the scene.
