LOWELL — On March 5, members of the Lowell Police Department Special Investigation Section and Warrant Unit, alongside the Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit, conducted an operation in the South Common area.
The operation resulted in 11 arrests.
Five adults were arrested on narcotics charges.
Five adults were found to have outstanding warrants.
One adult was arrested on narcotics charges and was found to have an outstanding warrant.
Fentanyl, crack cocaine, and cash were also seized as part of the operation.
In a separate initiative to reduce motor vehicle crashes, the LPD Neighborhood Response Unit, Traffic Unit, and Gang Unit conducted high visibility traffic enforcement throughout the city.
These efforts resulted in 91 traffic citations.
