ALBANY –– Albany Community School head cook Robin Talmadge and social studies teacher Holly Lillis have been nominated for National Life Group’s 2024-25 LifeChanger of the Year award.
Sponsored by the National Life Group Foundation, LifeChanger of the Year recognizes and rewards the very best K-12 educators and school district employees across the United States who are making a difference in the lives of students by exemplifying excellence, positive influence, and leadership.
Talmadge was nominated by her colleague, Wendy Little, for her dedication to transforming the cafeteria experience at Albany Community School. She creates nutritious, flavorful meals that students love, introducing a popular salad bar and incorporating fresh produce from the school garden.
“Ms. Talmadge is truly a LifeChanger. Her flexibility and welcoming nature have made her an invaluable part of the school community, ensuring the kitchen is a space for both nourishment and connection,” Little said.
Lillis was nominated by her principal, Jessica Thomas, for her impact on shaping the school culture and fostering a rigorous learning environment. Her wisdom and kindness make her a trusted resource for both colleagues and students, offering support and encouragement in every interaction.
“Holly is one of those rare gems in the world who brings positivity and sunshine wherever she goes,” said Thomas.
Both will have the opportunity to win a cash prize up to $10,000
