BRISTOL — On Feb. 17, the Bristol Police Department’s newly formed Crime Suppression Unit made its first arrest, seizing over 3 pounds of marijuana and other drugs during a traffic stop.

The unit encountered Coron Burrell, 26, of New Britain, after recognizing him as the driver of a vehicle that had previously refused to stop for officers.

During the stop, officers found 3.3 pounds of marijuana packaged for sale, 1.8 grams of cocaine, and more than $700 in cash.

The estimated street value of the marijuana is approximately $8,000.

Burrell was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance, and misuse of plates.

He is scheduled to appear in New Britain Court next month.
