NEWTOWN — Newtown Police Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated man waving a gun and threatening an employee at Dodgingtown Garage on Route 302 at 4:42 p.m. on Feb. 11.

Witnesses reported that the man was also urinating and exposing himself at the gas pumps before leaving the scene in his vehicle, heading towards Bethel.

Officers quickly located and stopped the vehicle on Route 302, blocking additional traffic and communicating with other drivers to vacate the area.

Despite the man’s uncooperative behavior, officers safely took him into custody and found a loaded .380 caliber handgun and a loaded .357 Magnum revolver on his person.

The man is being held until his Thursday court date on multiple charges, including breach of peace, first-degree threatening, reckless endangerment, driving under the influence, and multiple firearms charges.
