Two Hartford men arrested in narcotics and firearms bust

BRISTOL –– Two Hartford men were arrested last week following a surveillance operation by the Bristol Police Department’s Narcotics Enforcement Team.

Detectives apprehended Malon Mathis, 24, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for the sale of narcotics in Bristol.

During the arrest, detectives discovered a large quantity of fentanyl, crack cocaine, and a firearm with a defaced serial number.

Mathis and Jahvar Reid, 25, also from Hartford, were taken into custody and face multiple charges related to firearms and narcotics offenses.

The police encourage community members to anonymously report criminal activities.

The Bristol Police Department is dedicated to eliminating narcotics from local streets with the community’s assistance.
