QUINCY — Two suspects wanted for an armed robbery at a Quincy convenience store were arrested in New York on Feb. 1, law enforcement officials announced.

The individuals are accused of robbing the Neighborhood Variety Convenience store at 132 East Howard St. in Quincy Point on Jan. 29.

According to police, the suspects threatened the store clerk with a firearm before fleeing in a stolen vehicle that originated from Lawrence, Massachusetts.

Quincy police patrol officers and detectives, working alongside area law enforcement agencies, quickly identified the suspects.

Arrest warrants were subsequently secured for both men, who face multiple charges, including armed robbery while masked, carrying a firearm without a license, and firearm violations related to prior violent crime and drug offense convictions.

New York authorities apprehended the suspects and notified Quincy police.

The men are currently being held at Rensselaer County Jail in New York.

Officials said the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office is coordinating efforts with New York authorities to extradite the suspects to Massachusetts.

Police said the suspects will face arraignment in Quincy District Court at a later date.
